World No Tobacco Day Clip Art

World No Tobacco Day is observed around the world each year on May 31. The purpose of this day is to encourage a 24-hour period of abstinence from all forms of tobacco consumption across the globe. The day is further intended to draw global attention to the widespread prevalence of tobacco use and to negative health effects, which currently lead to 5.4 million deaths worldwide annually.

If you see an ashtray holding flowers instead of tobacco products, it signifies World No Tobacco Day.

Memorial Day

Memorial-day-bow.jpg

Memorial Day is a US federal holiday that remembers the service and sacrifice of the men and women who died while serving in the United states Armed Forces. The holiday is celebrated each year on the last Monday of May.

To ensure the sacrifices of America's fallen heroes are never forgotten, in December 2000, the U.S. Congress passed and the president signed into law "The National Moment of Remembrance Act," creating the White House Commission on the National Moment of Remembrance. The commission's charter is to "encourage the people of the United States to give something back to their country, which provides them so much freedom and opportunity" by encouraging and coordinating commemorations in the United States of Memorial Day and the National Moment of Remembrance.

Food Fun Facts

Tuesday May 13, 2014
Apples.png <

There is a multitude of food that we consume. There are around 2000 different plant types that humans use to cultivate food.

There are about 7,000 cherries on an average tart cherry tree (the number varies depending on the age of the tree, weather and growing conditions). It takes about 250 cherries to make a cherry pie, so each tree could produce enough cherries for 28 pies! For more interesting facts, visit the link below.
