Definition: A Web ring is a group of individual Web sites linked together for a common cause, purpose, theme or interest.
A holiday Web ring would consist of individual sites that have holiday pages. A graphics holiday Web ring would link together individual sites that offer clip art, backgrounds and other graphics for others to use. An animation Web ring would link sites offering animated clip art for others to use or might possibly offer artist created animations for others to view but not use.
Any group with a common interest or theme could form a Web ring.
