Create A Simple Silhouette Man
Create clip art of a silhouette of a man with a cane and wearing a top hat using simple lines and an oval.
Use lines and an oval to create a simple silhouette of a man with a cane wearing a top hat. You will need a paint program or graphics software program capable of drawing lines and ovals, and the ability to fill in colors, such as black, white, and red. I used Paint Shop Pro, version 4.7, to create this silhouette.
Step One
Use the color black and a line tool to draw the shape below. The shape you want is not quite a square and not quite a triangle. Fill this shape in with black.
Step Two
Using your line and black color, draw an outward line from the shoulder, a small line straight down, and a longer line angled back in to the "waist" of the silhouette. Then draw another series of lines inside this line to complete the arm. Notice that the arm gradually gets smaller from the shoulder to the elbow, then from the elbow to the waist. Fill the shape in with black color.
Step Three
Draw the other arm decreasing the size of the arm as it nears the "hand". Fill in this shape with black.
Step Four
Using simple lines, draw the bottom half of the silhouette and fill it in with black.
Step Five
You will need an oval shape for the head. Not too large and not too wide. Keep drawing an oval until you get a shape you like. I've placed my oval just a fraction to the left of the center of the body.
Step Six
Add a hat by drawing lines at angles and filling the shape in with black.
Step Seven
Straight lines down created the cane, the using a brush, if you have one, or the line tool create a small hook for the cane top.
If you would like to add a bit of color to your silhouette like the image at the top of the page, draw a triangle for the shirt front and fill it in with white. Use simple lines to draw a long X shape for the bow tie and fill this shape with a red color and your simple silhouette is done.
