Here is a quick project for kids - introduce them to the US flag by making a flag pennant.
- Download a sheet of two flags - one flag is wavy and other one is straight. The images are mirrored so that when you cut it out and you fold it in half you will have a flag on each side of the paper.
- Cut out the flag you want.
- Fold the piece around a dowel, a straw, a wooden skewer or some other type of straight stick.
- Glue the sides together and when dry you will have a flag on a stick.
